Matthew Bryan

Matthew Bryan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sports development and management, currently serving as the Player Registration Manager and Competitions Development lead for England Rugby since September 2004. In this role, Matthew focuses on increasing participation in rugby across the North of England by enhancing competitions and supporting volunteer infrastructures. Additionally, Matthew chairs the Game Management System Committee, overseeing a national panel dedicated to the implementation of the rugby union database. Previous roles include Rugby Development Officer, Lecturer at Newcastle College, and Curriculum Leader for Physical Education at European Services for People with Autism. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Sport & Organisation Management from Northumbria University, along with multiple degrees in education and sports science, and a solid foundation in mechanical engineering.
