Dr. Matthias Nienaber

Dr. Matthias Nienaber is a co-founder and member of SYNION - Das Expertennetzwerk since May 2025 and serves as an Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting at Ruhr University Bochum from February 2022. Previous experience includes working as a Financial Controller for RWE Renewables from October 2019 to December 2021, where responsibilities included long-term planning and KPI reporting. Additionally, Dr. Nienaber has experience as a lecturer for Advanced Management Accounting at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg and as a research assistant during PhD studies at the University of Münster. Dr. Nienaber holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Münster, along with a Master of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Business. Earlier educational experiences include studies in International Management and an Abitur from St. Georg Gymnasium Bocholt.
