Sergio Barros

Sergio Barros is an accomplished geoscientist with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as a Visiting Associate Professor at Ruhr University Bochum and an Associate Professor in Geophysics at Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Sergio has been integral to the MASTER IN APPLIED GEOTHERMIC program and courses in seismic acquisition and borehole geophysics. Previous roles include Visiting Professor at Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Senior Geoscience Consultant, and Discipline Manager at Aprilios, alongside a significant history at Schlumberger in various capacities, including QA Team Lead and Geosciences Business Manager for North America and Latin America. Sergio began a career as a Field Geophysicist at WesternGeco and has also contributed to earthquake seismology and technical operations supervision. With an MSc in Geophysics from Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Sergio's expertise spans geophysical research, oil and gas consultancy, and academic instruction.
