David Messina

David Messina has a diverse range of work experience spanning over two decades. Currently, they are the CEO and Co-founder of Rumin8, an Agritech startup that aims to develop products to reduce methane emissions in cows and sheep. Prior to this, David held the position of Chairman of the Board at Cadogan, where they oversaw a sheep and cropping property in South West Western Australia. David also served as the Director at Cadogan and played a crucial role in data recording, data informed decision making, and environmental stewardship.

David has also worked as the Managing Director at Whitebark Energy Limited from 2016 to 2021. Before that, they co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Hutton Energy Ltd and Central EU Biofuels Ltd. David was instrumental in the establishment and growth of these startup companies.

Additionally, David has held leadership positions at PlantTech Pty Ltd, Seed Grain Biotechnology Australia Pty Ltd, and Seed Grain Biotechnology Australia Pty Ltd, where they contributed to the growth and commercialization of various agricultural products and technologies.

Furthermore, they began their career as an Agronomist at SBS RURAL IAMA PTY LIMITED and served as a Farm Adviser at the Department of Agriculture - WA. These early experiences laid the foundation for their subsequent roles in the agricultural industry.

David Messina attended Scotch College in Perth from 1983 to 1988. After completing their secondary education, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Agriculture from The University of Western Australia from 1989 to 1992.
