Aiden Arnold, PhD

Aiden Arnold, PhD has a wealth of experience in data science, AI, and cognitive psychology. Aiden began their career in 2010 as a Research Scientist at NeuroLab, where they designed and implemented studies on the relationship between neural networks and normal/clinical cognitive states. In 2012, they became a Lab Instructor at the University of Calgary, where they designed and led graduate level labs for advanced univariate and multivariate statistical analyses.

In 2013, Aiden co-founded YouFindIt, where they led a funding campaign that resulted in over 20k in seed funding and collaborated with Ayogo Inc. to develop a game. In 2014, they co-founded EmoGenius, where they designed a neurotherapeutic game to train socially appropriate emotes in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Aiden developed an interactive game using Unity3D that incorporated research from cognitive psychology and used machine learning to build a classifier to detect emotional expressions.

From 2015 to 2019, Aiden worked at Zepp Health as the Team Lead of AI Innovation at the Canada AI Lab. Aiden worked on early stage prototypes and algorithm innovation, and their machine learning algorithms have been deployed on 10s of millions of edge devices around the world. Aiden'swork covered many topics on human health and wellness.

Most recently, Aiden began working at Rune Labs in 2022 as a Lead and Senior Data Scientist.

Aiden Arnold obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Calgary in 2017. Prior to this, they obtained an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Calgary in 2012. Aiden began their educational journey in 2005, when they completed a BSc. Hon. in Psychology from the University of Victoria in 2007.
