Kurt Schütte has a diverse work experience. In 2007, they were a Lifestyle Consultant at Virgin Active. In 2010, they were an Intern Biokineticist at Stellenbosch Biokinetics Centre. In 2013, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Stellenbosch, working with Dr. Suzanne Ferreira on Paralympic sprint performance and biomechanics of running blade sprinting. From 2014 to 2020, they were at KU Leuven, first as a Senior Lecturer, then as a Postdoctoral Researcher on a project developing a novel adaptive training tool using artificial intelligence, and finally as a PhD Researcher. During this time, they co-authored 15 articles in academic journals, presented at 8 international conferences, built a MATLAB based software APP, lectured in biomechanics and sports technology applications, collaborated and biomechanically validated novel technology innovations, and was an invited speaker and peer reviewer. In 2020, they became the CEO and Cofounder of RunEASI.
Kurt Schütte obtained a Bachelor of Science from Stellenbosch University in 2007-2009, followed by a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in 2010. Kurt then obtained a Master's degree in Sport Science from Stellenbosch University in 2011-2012. Finally, they obtained a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (KU Leuven) in Sports Biomechanics from KU Leuven in 2014-2017. In addition, they hold a certification as a Biokineticist - sports physical therapist from HPCSA.
