Ingólfur Bragi Gunnarsson

Ingólfur Bragi Gunnarsson, PhD is currently the Director and Algal Bioengineering Lead at Running Tide since 2022. Prior to that, they were the Head of Cultivation at Algalif from 2015 to 2022, where they were responsible for culture scale-up, contamination control and growth optimization. Key responsibilities included ensuring successful scale-up of microalgae cultures from single colonies up to 1000L cultures in tubular photobioreactors, as well as conducting microscope analysis of scale-up and production cultures to confirm absence of microorganisms considered to be contaminants. Ingólfur Bragi Gunnarsson, PhD was also a Ph.D. student at the Technical University of Denmark from 2011 to 2015.

Ingólfur Bragi Gunnarsson completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology from DTU - Technical University of Denmark between 2011 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Biotechnology from Uppsala University between 2009 and 2011. Before that, they completed a B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Háskólinn á Akureyri between 2006 and 2009.
