Ted Cavan

Ted joined Runway in 2022 as Managing Director; he focuses on investments in the technology industry.

Prior to Runway, Ted was a Senior Vice President at Stifel where he led the venture lending efforts in the firm’s Boston office. In this role, Ted was responsible for originations, deal execution, and portfolio management of investments into sponsor-backed technology and technology-supported businesses nationwide.

Ted has over a decade of experience partnering with promising, high-growth companies and their investors to help them meet their strategic goals through senior and subordinated debt, limited partner participations, and direct equity investments. Prior to his role at Stifel, Ted was a Principal at TriplePoint Capital, a global specialty finance company focused on debt and equity investments into venture-backed companies. Earlier in his career, Ted held various finance and operations roles in the banking, biotechnology, and microbrewing industries.

Ted earned an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and dual B.A.s from Skidmore College, where he was a member of the school’s varsity men’s lacrosse team.
