Frances deGruy has a diverse work experience. Frances began their career in 2016 as an Emergency Medical Technician at Tulane EMS. In 2018, they became an Intern in Tocoginecología at Hospital Simplemente Evita. In 2019, they took on roles as a Sales Associate at Reformation, and a Midwife & Media Intern at NYC Midwives. Also in 2019, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at Tulane University School of Medicine, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. In 2020, they took on roles as a Program Assistant at Louisiana Breastfeeding Coalition, and a UX Researcher at Rupa Health.

Frances deGruy attended Cate School from 2012 to 2015. Frances then attended Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Public Health and Spanish. In 2018, they studied Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Buenos Aires and Public Health at Instituto Universitario de la 'Fundación ISALUD'. In 2021, they obtained a Master of Public Health - MPH in Health Policy and Management from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Additionally, Frances obtained certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in 2017, and as a National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C/ CPR with AED skills from the Red Cross Lifeguard.
