Anniina Salonen has worked in a variety of roles in the environmental field since 2009. In 2009, they worked as an Environmental Trainee at the City of Pori. In 2010, they worked as an HSEQ Engineer Trainee at Sachtleben Chemie. In 2011, they worked as an Environmental Engineer at Fiskars Group. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as an Environmental Engineer at First Quantum Minerals LTD, where they were responsible for environmental monitoring, internal and external reporting, environmental construction permitting, waste management, and environmental trainings. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at Boliden as an Head of Section Environment and Environmental Specialist, where they managed an environmental team, implemented Towards Sustainable Mining standards and ISO14001 environmental management system, and ensured the company operated in accordance with legislation and environmental principles. In 2021, Anniina Salonen began working as an Environmental Manager for Rupert Resources.
Anniina Salonen has a diverse educational background. From 2008 to 2011, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering Technology/Environmental Technology from Savonia University of Applied Sciences. From 2017 to 2020, they earned a Master of Science degree in Sustainability Science and Solutions from LUT University. During this time, they also completed a study program in Dam Safety Studies at Tampere University. In 2021, they began Open University studies in Environmental Law at the University of Eastern Finland. Additionally, they have certification in ISO 14001:2016 Building of Environmental Management System from Kiwa.
