Paul Cowie

Paul Cowie serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Rural Design Centre since August 2024 and has held the position of Director at Ray Wind Farm Community Interest Company since August 2018, representing Elsdon Parish and facilitating community projects. Previous roles include Principal Consultant at Urban Foresight (October 2021 - August 2024) and Research Fellow at Newcastle University (May 2012 - October 2021), where leadership of the Centre for Rural Economies Smart Rural research took place. Paul Cowie has been a member of Northumberland National Park Authority, a consultant in commercial property at Particular C&L Limited, and has experience as a solicitor in various law firms. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Newcastle University, an MSc in Rural Development, and multiple law-related degrees.
