Amy Slowik

Amy Slowik has a diverse work experience in the library and education field. Amy is currently the Head of Youth and Family Learning at Russell Library, where they oversee various programs and initiatives. Prior to this role, they were the Head of Borrowing and Discovery at the same library, responsible for managing the circulation and cataloging department. Before joining Russell Library, Amy held positions such as Head of Adult Services at New Britain Public Library and Branch and Special Projects Librarian at the University of New Haven. Amy also has experience as a librarian at San Diego Public Library and as a research associate at The Grauer School. Amy has a background in academia, having worked as an Electronic Resources Librarian at Western Kentucky University and a Digital Library Fellow at the University of Iowa. Amy started their career as a Project Editor at Buckle Down Publishing. Overall, Amy's work experience demonstrates their expertise in library management, collection development, and educational research.

Amy Slowik has a strong educational background in Art History and English Literature. Amy obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePauw University in 2004, after which they pursued further education at the University of Chicago. Amy completed their Master of Arts degree in Art History and English Literature at the University of Chicago in 2005. In 2008, Amy enrolled at the University of Iowa to pursue a Master of Library and Information Science degree, specializing in Web Page, Digital/Multimedia, and Information Resources Design. Amy completed their MLIS degree in 2009.
