Tom Roets has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tom is currently working at Russell Reynolds Associates as an Executive Director & Technology Officer Practice Leader for the Asia-Pacific region. Tom'srole involves specialized executive search and assessment in technology-centric positions, such as CIO, CTO, and CDO, across various industries. Tom also handles Board, CEO, and C-level roles for Telco & Tech businesses.

Prior to this, Tom volunteered at The Pinnacle Foundation starting from July 2021. Tom also served as a Seed Investor at Barbell Foods from October 2018.

Tom has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, having worked at Telstra as an Enterprise Strategy & Transformation Executive from February 2020 to June 2021. Tom also held various roles at nbn™ Australia, including the positions of Executive General Manager (EGM) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from August 2014 to November 2019. In these roles, they were responsible for strategic, technological, operational, and commercial aspects of the business, with a focus on customer experience, wholesale product management, and commercial supply.

Before their tenure at nbn™ Australia, Tom was a General Manager at Vodafone Australia, where they handled strategy and planning, business development, and intercarrier operations from June 2009 to June 2014.

Tom's earlier experiences include working as an Associate Principal at McKinsey from April 2003 to June 2009, where they engaged in strategic management consulting projects across various industries. Tom also co-founded Mercateo, a tech start-up, and served as its IT Start-Up Lead from January 2000 to February 2003. Additionally, they worked as a Web Application Developer at Hitradio Ø3 from December 1998 to February 1999 and as a Database Application Developer at Sasol from January 1995 to December 1998.

Tom Roets obtained a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Computer Science and Informatics from the University of Johannesburg. Tom completed their studies at the university from 1995 to 1998. Additionally, Tom obtained a certification in Duolingo Spanish Fluency at a beginner level from Duolingo in November 2015.
