Zach Ertz has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Zach started their career as a Corn Detasseler at Kussmaul Seed Co. in 2009 and 2010. Zach then worked as a Construction Laborer at Graney Construction in 2013, Miles Construction in 2014, Wolf Construction in 2015 and 2016, and Schaefer Construction from 2017 to 2019. During their time at Schaefer Construction, they also worked as an Assistant Project Manager and Assistant Field Manager at PORTZEN CONSTRUCTION, INC from May to August 2017 on various projects such as the Johnson County Ambulance Building, Kinnick Stadium & Paul W. Breckler Press Box, and Wahler High School Renovation. Ertz further enhanced their skills as an Assistant Project Engineer at Barnard Construction from May to August 2018, where they contributed to the C-44 Reservoir project. Zach then served as a Project Engineer at Russell, working on projects such as the Le Meridian Clayton St. Louis Project from October 2019 to October 2020, and the SOF Training Facility project at the Rowe Training Facility on Camp Mackall, NC, which is being run by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Overall, Ertz has gained valuable experience in project engineering, construction labor, and management throughout their career.
Zach Ertz attended River Ridge High School from 2011 to 2015 and obtained a High School Diploma. After completing high school, they pursued further education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 2015 to 2019. Zach graduated with a degree in Building Construction Management, focusing on Building/Construction Site Management/Manager.
In terms of additional certifications, Zach obtained various certifications related to their field. In August 2019, they became Procore Certified as a Project Manager in various areas such as Construction Financials, Core Tools, Field Productivity, Project Management, and Quality & Safety. Zach also received certification as a Procore Certified Superintendent. In May 2018, they completed the 10-Hours and 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health certifications from the US Department of Labor OSHA. Zach also obtained the STICCS: Focus Four Hazard certification from the Associated Builders and Contractors. In November 2020, they completed the Construction Quality Management For Contractors certification from the US Army Corps of Engineers. In November 2020, they obtained the Competent Person, Fall Protection for Construction certification from ClickSafety. In September 2020, they completed the EM 385-1-1 8-Hour for Construction certification from ClickSafety. Lastly, in June 2022, they obtained the EM 385-1-1 24 Hr. Fall Protection Competent Person certification from TWS and the CPR/AED/First Aid certification from the American Heart Association in October 2020.
