Tak Toyoshima has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Tak started their career as a freelance illustrator in 1995, where they provided illustrations for various clients and exhibited their work at galleries and events. In 1999, they became the creator and illustrator of the comic strip "Secret Asian Man," which evolved from a monthly strip to a self-syndicated weekly feature and ultimately gained daily syndication by United Features. As a public speaker, Tak represented by the American Program Bureau and spoke at colleges, universities, festivals, and conferences across the country, focusing on Asian American issues, media stereotypes, comic books, and using comics in education. Tak has also held roles as both a creative director and director of operations at Rustic Marlin Designs since 2016. Overall, Tak's work experience demonstrates their expertise in illustration, comics, and public speaking.
Tak Toyoshima obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Advertising from Boston University, where they studied from 1989 to 1993.
