Jessie Fullenkamp, LMSW, brings extensive experience in the field of social work and education. Currently serving as the Education and Evaluation Director and Behavioral Health Director at Ruth Ellis Center since October 2010, Jessie has also held the position of Clinician within the organization. Prior experience includes working as the International Student Services Event Coordinator at the University of Michigan from September 2009 to August 2010, and as a Teacher at Saramen Chuuk Academy from August 2007 to May 2009. Jessie holds a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on Policy Evaluation and Community Organizing from the University of Michigan (2009-2010) and a Bachelor of Social Work degree with concentrations in Social Work and Gender and Diversity Studies from Xavier University (2003-2007).

Over a 21+ year history, REC has established a national reputation for quality and innovation in providing trauma-informed services for LGBTQ youth and young adults, with an emphasis on youth of color. What began as a 500-square-foot safe space in Highland Park, MI has evolved into a multi-faceted organization, providing outreach and safety-net services, integrated primary & behavioral health care services and case management, skill-building workshops, HIV prevention programs, family preservation programming, and housing resource. MISSION Creating opportunities with LGBTQ+ young people to build their vision for a positive future. VISION A world where LGBTQ+ young people are safe and supported no matter where they show up.
