Karen Marhefka

Karen "K" Marhefka, DHA, is the Deputy Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology at RWJBarnabas Health, having held these positions since June 2020. Previously, Marhefka served as Principal at Impact Advisors and held senior leadership roles at emids and Tenet Healthcare, where responsibilities included directing provider consulting services and leading innovation initiatives. Early career experience includes a decade at UMass Memorial Health Care, where Marhefka oversaw the Cornerstone Program to standardize clinical and financial systems across multiple hospitals. Marhefka holds a Doctor of Healthcare Administration from Walden University, a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Worcester University, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from East Carolina University.
