Mark Russo

Mark Russo, MD, MS, is a distinguished cardiac surgeon currently serving as Professor of Surgery and Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, while also directing the Structural Heart Disease program. In addition, Mark Russo holds the position of Attending Cardiac Surgeon at RWJBarnabas Health and has previously contributed to the University of Chicago and New York-Presbyterian Hospital in various surgical and leadership roles. A graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine with an MD, Mark Russo also earned an MS in Evaluative Clinical Science from Dartmouth College and has extensive training in surgery and cardiothoracic surgery from Columbia University and the National Institutes of Health. Research interests are supported by a solid foundation in clinical and health outcomes research.
