Karan Kumar, Ph.D., is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at RWTH Aachen University, working in The Blank Lab at the Institute of Applied Microbiology. Karan completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, where the research focused on Bioenergy and awarded an Outstanding PhD Thesis Award in Energy Science and Engineering in 2024. Prior to this, Karan served as a Prime Minister's Research Fellow and excelled in coursework during both the PhD and the earlier Bachelor of Technology degree in Biotechnology from the National Institute of Technology Calicut. Karan has diverse experience in academic roles, including guest lecturing in Analytical Chemistry, organizing a winter internship program in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, and participating in various academic and research projects.
