Melanie Medcalf currently serves as the Director of Facilities and Laboratory Operations at RxCelerate since October 2025. Prior to this role, Melanie was the Scientific Operations Manager at RxBiologics from January 2024 to September 2025, and the Biotherapeutic Production and Bioanalytics Lead at AbCellera from May 2023 to January 2024. Melanie's experience includes a position as the Senior Scientist 2 and Antibody Engineering Lead at Mestag Therapeutics, alongside roles as Team Leader and Senior Scientist II in Immunology Assay Services at Horizon Discovery. Earlier in her career, Melanie worked at F-star Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist involved in Antibody Drug Discovery, as well as at MedImmune as a Scientist I focusing on Antibody Discovery and Protein Engineering. Melanie obtained a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Leeds and a BSc in Microbiology Hons from the University of Nottingham.
