Shailendra Mehta has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Shailendra is currently the President and Director of MICA since June 2017. Before that, they co-founded S-Ancial in 2014 where they served as the Chairman, focusing on capital markets and investor relations. Shailendra was also the Chairman of the Board of Management, Acting Vice Chancellor, and Distinguished Professor of Strategy at Auro University from October 2015 to May 2017. Additionally, Shailendra served as the Provost/Vice Chancellor at Ahmedabad University from October 2014 to October 2015. Prior to these roles, they were a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad from June 2006 to September 2014. Shailendra's entrepreneurial experience includes founding Simulex in 1999, where high-end simulations and gaming environments were developed for Fortune 500 companies and the US Government. Shailendra was also the Academic Director of Duke CE from April 2009 to May 2012 and the Regional Managing Director of Duke Corporate Education from May 2006 to April 2009. Their academic career began at Purdue University, where they served as a Visiting Associate Professor from 1990 to 2006.

Shailendra Mehta completed their education in a chronological order, starting from their high school years. Shailendra obtained the Cambridge School Certificate from St. Columba's High School in New Delhi. Shailendra then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and completed it in 1979. Following this, Shailendra earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics in 1981. Shailendra furthered their studies by attending Balliol College, Oxford University, where they obtained a Master of Philosophy degree in Economics in 1985. Lastly, Shailendra attained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics from Harvard University in 1990.
