Head of Client Management, East at S5 Agency World

Desmond Lim is the current Head of Client Management, East at S5 Agency World. Prior to this, they were the General Manager at Marine Online from August 2017 to November 2019. Desmond has also held the position of General Manager at Hallmark Shipping Services Pte Ltd from June 2015 to June 2017, and Jardine Shipping Services from September 2011 to February 2015.

With over 21 years of experience in ship agency business both locally and regionally, Desmond is a hands-on individual and team player who is actively involved in the day-to-day operations, ensuring operation excellence with compliance with client expectation and standards. Desmond also formulates strategy & procedures for better work flow, trains, coaches, mentors and retains good individuals, and builds relationships with local authorities and 3rd party vendors.

Other critical functions that Desmond has overseen include P / L management, debtors review and management, vendor management and audit, overall compliance of both internal and external audit (including ISO auditing and financial audit compliance), growing the numbers of satisfied customers, measuring and reviewing KPI, enhancing trade compliance, and ensuring company code of conduct are strictly adhered to.

They are on a team with Alexander Plant - Head of Client Management-West & Group ISO,HSSE Manager, Simon Wood - GM, Global Operations Hub, and Mazhar Naik - GM, Global Finance Hub. Desmond Lim reports to Marinus Ter Laak, CEO.
