Erik R Deutsch

Erik R Deutsch has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of technology and product development. Erik R is currently serving as the VP of Innovation & Customer Solutions at Si-Ware Systems, where they lead the innovation, development, and engineering of new products and custom solutions for strategic customers. Prior to this, they worked at SAAM Inc. as the Chief Technology Advisor & Board of Directors and later as the Chief Technology Officer, Board of Directors. At SAAM, they focused on the technology and product development of a low-cost sensor platform for fire detection and air quality monitoring.

Before SAAM, Erik R Deutsch founded and served as the President of Seedling Engineering. The company specializes in innovative application-driven instrumentation and solutions, providing technical expertise, product development, and consulting services to startup and mid-size companies.

Erik R also served as the Chief Technology Officer at Neolitics, an Optical Spectroscopy company, where they were involved in offering analytical solutions to various sectors. Additionally, they worked as the Chief Operations Officer at Hindsight Imaging, leading all aspects of technology, product development, engineering, manufacturing, and operations.

Erik R Deutsch's earlier experience includes working at Block Engineering as the Vice President of Engineering, responsible for technology and product development, strategic customer management, and business development. Erik R also has experience working at Polychromix, Inc. as the Director of MEMS Technology and later as the Founder and Chief of MEMS Engineering. Prior to that, they had a research assistant role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specifically working on the MEMS Polychromator Project.

Throughout their career, Erik R Deutsch has showcased their expertise in optics, hardware, electronics, and software development, utilizing various technologies such as QCLs, MEMS, FTIR, fiber sensing, Raman, OCT, and hyperspectral imaging. Erik R has also demonstrated proficiency in chemometrics, IoT, machine learning, and AI for system-level solutions.

Erik R. Deutsch pursued their education with a significant focus on scientific and technological fields. From 1993 to 1996, they attended Vassar College and achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree. During their time at Vassar College, Erik dedicated their studies to several subjects, including physics, computer science, math, and economics. Following their undergraduate studies, Erik embarked on further academic advancement at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1996 to 2002. With a strong emphasis on Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, they successfully earned their Ph.D. degree.
