Eric Sandhurst, PhD

Eric Sandhurst, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Eric is currently working as a Senior Manager Corporate Development at SAb Biotherapeutics since July 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Consultant at Dakota Research and Consulting Organization (DRACO) where they provided technology development, coaching & mentoring, and advising services to the biotechnology sector. Eric also engaged with External Experts and Key Opinion Leaders to create technical reports and market assessments.

Dr. Sandhurst also worked as a Clinical Research Specialist - Oncology at Sanford Health from January 2021 to July 2021, where they collaborated cross-functionally and ensured the highest ethical and scientific quality of oncology trials. Before this, they were a PhD Researcher in Biomaterials / Tissue Engineering at Graduate School, University of South Dakota from September 2014 to July 2020. Eric established collaborations, developed project-management skills, and implemented problem-solving strategies in their research projects.

Additionally, Dr. Sandhurst has held positions such as an Adjunct Instructor at South Dakota State University, Assistant Researcher at Antimicrobial Materials Inc., Quality Control Technician at The University of South Dakota, Patient Care Technician at Avera Health, and Secondary Education Volunteer at Peace Corps Tanzania. These roles involved teaching, research, laboratory work, patient care, and sales.

Throughout their work experience, Dr. Sandhurst has demonstrated strong interdisciplinary collaboration, technical skills, and a commitment to professionalism and ethical standards.

Eric Sandhurst, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of biomedical/medical engineering. From 2016 to 2020, they attended the University of South Dakota and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in biomedical/medical engineering from the same university from 2014 to 2016. Eric began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, from the University of South Dakota from 2003 to 2008.

In addition to their academic achievements, Eric Sandhurst holds two additional certifications. In December 2013, they obtained the certification of Emergency Medical Technician, Basic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Furthermore, in October 2020, they completed the CO.STARTERS Facilitator program at CO.STARTERS.
