Paul Carolan

Paul Carolan has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Paul started their career as a Powerplant Engineer Intern at Dublin Aerospace in 2010, where they provided status reports on APUs and assisted in part recertification processes. Paul then served as a Quality Project Assistant, creating a database and conducting risk assessments.

In 2012, Paul became a Landing Gear Development Engineer at Dublin Aerospace, focusing on quality improvement and compliance with industry standards. Paul also served as a Commercial Manager at Dublin Aerospace from 2018 to 2020, managing internal APU commercial processes and providing estimates to customers.

Paul then joined EirTrade Aviation Ireland Limited as a Procurement & Evaluation Manager in 2017, responsible for technical airframe sales of Boeing and Airbus aircraft. Paul later joined Dublin Aerospace again in 2018 as a Commercial Manager.

Most recently, in 2020, Paul joined Sum Aviation Group as a Vice President of Business Development. Paul was promoted to Commercial Director in 2022 and is currently employed by the company.

In June 2023, Paul will transition to a new role as the VP of Business Development & Sales at Sabena Engineering.

Paul Carolan has a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Limerick from 2008 to 2012. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Specialist Diploma (Level 9) in Continued Airworthiness & Maintenance Management from the same university. Most recently, in 2021 to 2022, Paul Carolan earned a Certificate in Aircraft Technical Services, Special Purpose Award from the Technological University of the Shannon. Additionally, they have certifications in Applied Project Management from the Ireland Chapter of PMI and Basic Surface Finishing from the Institute of Materials Finishing.
