Brent began at Sabin Metal Corporation in 1989 in the laboratory. He later expanded his experience by working in the Production and Environmental Departments. In 2004, he became Technical Director. One of his most notable achievements was developing the process to recover rhenium from petrochemical catalysts. Now called Pyro-Re, the process produces catalyst-grade ammonium perrhenate and is only available at Sabin Metal Corporation.
At Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Brent developed and constructed an operating gas turbine engine based on an automotive turbocharger single-handedly to study; he is also a RC and 3D printing enthusiast. Brent received a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from RIT and an AAS in Chemistry.
