Michael later transitioned to Sabine Oil & Gas, where they held various senior positions including Senior Completions Engineer, Senior Reservoir Engineer, and Senior Staff Operations Engineer. At Sabine Oil & Gas, they played a key role in designing and implementing completions of new exploration and development wells, analyzing production inefficiencies, and providing project management control. Prior to that, they worked at Forest Oil Corporation as a Senior Production/Completions Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and implementing completions of new wells, maintaining project management control, and analyzing production inefficiencies. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in engineering, project management, and customer relations in the oil and gas industry.
Michael van de Bruinhorst attended Second Baptist High School, although the start and end years of their education at this institution are unknown. Following their time at Second Baptist High School, they enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2003.
