Jarrod Murdaugh, P.E. has extensive experience in the electric power industry. Jarrod began their career at Associated Electric Cooperative as an Engineering Intern, where they had the opportunity to work on database redesign, programming, and AutoCAD mapping.

Jarrod then joined Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative, starting as a Communications Engineer. In this role, they engineered and designed fiber optic and microwave communications networks and developed a Disaster Recovery Plan. Jarrod also gained experience in AutoCAD and proposal preparation.

Jarrod then transitioned into roles focused on protection and control engineering. As a Protection and Control Engineer, they were responsible for relay settings, schematics development, and compliance testing. Jarrod later became a Senior Protection & Control Engineer, where they supervised a team and continued to design relay settings and equipment protection schemes.

Jarrod's career progressed to management positions within Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative. Jarrod served as Director of Planning & Operations, Manager of Planning & Operations, and Manager of System Operations. In these roles, they were responsible for strategic development, process improvement, and change management in the areas of operations, maintenance, and engineering of the electric power transmission system.

Currently, Jarrod holds the position of Power Engineering & Operations Director at Sho-Me Power Electric Cooperative. In this role, they lead a multi-faceted team responsible for system operations, substations operations, system protection, and power system planning. Jarrod continues to focus on process improvement and change management.

Jarrod Murdaugh, P.E. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating in 2005. Subsequently, from 2007 to 2009, they pursued two master's degrees. The first was a Masters of Business Administration in Management from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. The second was a Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, also from Arizona State University.

In terms of certifications, Jarrod Murdaugh, P.E. completed the Professional Engineer certification from the Missouri Division of Professional Registration in July 2010. Jarrod obtained the Management Essentials Program certification from NRECA in November 2015. Additionally, they obtained the NERC Certified System Operator-Transmission certification from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) in August 2018. More recently, in September 2019, they completed the Management Internship Program - Select certification from NRECA.
