Toby Fenton

Toby Fenton is the current Director of Corporate IT at Sabio. Prior to their current position, they were the Head of Information Systems at Maintel from June 2018 to February 2021. In their role at Maintel, they were responsible for the information systems, business technology, cyber security and DPO leadership, acting as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

During their time at Maintel, Toby spearhead IT alignment with business goals to deliver value and competitive advantage. Toby was also accountable for infrastructure solutions including networks, storage, servers and platforms. In addition, they had a full remit for risk management, including information security, physical security, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, crisis management, privacy and compliance. Toby also provided technical leadership from solution design and new capability implementation, through to continuous service improvement and operational support.

In their role at Maintel, Toby also drove the adoption of core ERP applications to streamline quote to cash operations. Toby managed IT integrations from mergers & acquisitions, while ensuring information security. Toby also ensured business compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, Cyber Essentials and ISO standards. Toby led the IS Change Control Board, promoting robust processes within working groups. Toby also drove governance, best practice and process controls across all information systems. Toby engaged with 3rd parties, external partners and suppliers to ensure Maintel is at the forefront of relevant technologies and receiving the best service available.

Toby Fenton has a BSc in Communications Engineering from the University of Plymouth. Toby has certifications from IT Governance Ltd in GDPR Practitioner, ISACA in COBIT 5 Foundation, The Knowledge Academy in PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner, and Parity Training in ITIL Service Management Foundation.
