Xanthi Soriano

Xanthi Soriano has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Xanthi currently holds the position of Executive Director of Communications at the Sacramento County Office of Education since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an English Second Language Teacher at the Folsom Cordova Unified School District starting from January 2022.

From 2015 to September 2022, Xanthi Soriano served as the Director of Communications/PIO at the Elk Grove Unified School District. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, crisis communications, and advising district personnel on communication and branding practices. Additionally, they worked as a teacher in various subjects, including English, Spanish, French, Social Science, PE, and Dance from December 2009 to December 2014.

Before joining the education sector, Soriano worked at Siemens Industry US. Xanthi was the Manager of Corporate Communications from March 2003 to June 2009, where they created and implemented communication programs and managed marketing activities. Xanthi also served as the Executive Assistant to the CEO from March 2003 to February 2004, handling calendar management, travel arrangements, and community outreach projects.

Furthermore, Soriano worked as a Marketing Consultant at NexTrend Products and The Institute for Government Affairs and Public Policy from September 2002 to March 2003. Prior to that, they held the position of Marketing Supervisor and Business Research Analyst at McDonald's from March 1999 to September 2002. At McDonald's, they analyzed product performance, planned regional advertising campaigns, and prepared business reports.

Xanthi Soriano has a diverse education history. Xanthi began their educational journey in 1984 at Pleasant Valley High School, where they obtained a diploma to complete their high school education. Afterward, they attended UC Irvine between 1987 and 1993, earning two Bachelor of Arts degrees. The first was in History, with a focus on Revolutions and the New World, and the second was in Drama, specializing in production, lighting design, costume design, and musical theater.

In 2002, Xanthi Soriano attended Folsom Community College for a brief period, where they studied Adobe Photoshop. Xanthi then pursued a Public Relations program at the University of California, Davis Extension from 2003 to 2005, obtaining a "Pass" in the course.

In 2009 and 2010, Xanthi Soriano enrolled at San Francisco State University to earn Teaching Credentials for both primary and secondary education. Following this, they attended the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy from 2013 to 2015, focusing on Organizational Leadership.

Continuing their educational journey, Xanthi Soriano pursued a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential in Educational Leadership and Administration at California State University-Sacramento from 2018 to 2019. Xanthi also obtained various certifications, including a Clear Administrative Services Credential from the Sacramento County Office of Education in November 2022, as well as a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in August 2019. Xanthi Soriano also holds a Single Subject Teaching Credential, obtained in February 2011, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, earned in June 2010, both from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
