Mark Beekey has been with Sacred Heart’s biology department since 2005. During his time at SHU, Mark and his co-principal investigators have been the recipient of millions of dollars in grants—most recently $1,449,251 from the National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Scholarship Program to prepare biology, chemistry, math and computer science (STEM subjects) secondary school teachers with skills in culturally responsive teaching. They received a similar grant for 2019-2023 in the amount of $1,199,945.
