Getachew Mengeste Wendemu

Getachew Mengeste Wendemu currently serves as the Chief Legal, Regulatory and Corporate Officer at Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC since March 2022, and previously held the position of Legal Counsel at Eagle Hills Ethiopia from October 2020 to March 2022. At Ethiopian Airlines, Getachew progressed through various roles from Staff Attorney to Senior Attorney between April 2014 and October 2020, managing complex contract negotiations and compliance matters associated with aviation law. Prior experience includes a tenure as a Lecturer at Debre Markos University from October 2008 to September 2013, where Getachew also served as acting dean of the Law School. Getachew earned a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Jimma University.
