Fred Niehaus currently serves as the Board Chair of Safe Harbor Financial and has been the Managing Partner at Interactive Global Solutions since December 2010, providing a cross-functional approach to consulting. Niehaus has been the Chairman of the Board at Farnsworth Group, Inc. since January 2003, overseeing a full-service engineering and architecture firm. Previous roles include Senior Vice President of Global Government Relations and Public Affairs at The Western Union Company from 2003 to 2010, and President & Founder of Intermountain Corporate Affairs from 1991 to 2003. Fred Niehaus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Communications from the University of Iowa.

Safe Harbor Financial was conceived in 2015 as a solution to a major problem that plagued the nascent legalized cannabis industry in Colorado– access to reliable and compliant financial services. Once SHF addressed the local Colorado issues surrounding lack of banking and industry participants became banked, clients started seeking out of state licenses; leading SHF to a national presence and the establishment of a national foundation that enabled SHF to solve the same issues on a national level. As a result, Safe Harbor presently processes funds from 20 different states nationally.
