Safe Haven Family Shelter
Grant Winter, LMSW, currently serves as the Chief Program Officer and previously held the position of Program Director at Safe Haven Family Shelter since October 2020. Prior experience includes a role as Housing Coordinator at Nashville CARES, supervised housing programs, and various positions in medical case management at the Juvenile Court of Nashville Assessment Division. Notable early experiences include positions at Hoss' Loaded Burgers, Bookman Bookwoman Bookstore, Tennesseans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, and several internships. Grant Winter holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Lipscomb University.

For over 30 years, Safe Haven has served as the only shelter-to-housing program in Middle Tennessee that accommodates homeless families. Families receive comprehensive services that empower them to achieve lasting self-sufficiency. Safe Haven’s approach is one of service, compassion, trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
