Safe Passages
Karina Vejar is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching and academic instruction. Currently, Karina has been serving as a Teacher with the Oakland Unified School District since 2017 and simultaneously works as an Academic Instructor for Safe Passages since August 2015. Prior experience includes tutoring at Emeryville Secondary School during the 2011-2012 academic year. Karina holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Education from Regent University, which was completed between 2014 and 2016.

Safe Passages 501(c)(3) is an inter-governmental partnership including the City of Oakland, the County of Alameda, the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), philanthropy and community-based partners that is committed to advocating for children, youth, and families with a special emphasis on vulnerable populations within the County of Alameda.
