Suzanne Miller serves as an HRO Expert for Safe and Reliable Healthcare. In this role, Suzanne assesses a unit or multiple units for areas of strengths and opportunities in order to tailor and deploy Safe and Reliable Healthcare’s HRO services. Suzanne leads, coaches and encourages clients through the implementation of various tools and projects to create cohesive teams and increase psychological safety throughout a unit or organization.
Suzanne received her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Marquette University, her RN Associates degree from Boise State University. Finally, Suzanne completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University where she researched nursing ethics and differences of professional opinion.
After working in business operations and marketing healthcare technology, Suzanne began her second career in nursing. In her nursing career she was quickly promoted through various leadership positions including Education, Quality and Risk, Regulatory, and Patient Safety. Suzanne was promoted to CNO where she worked as the executive sponsor for a 7 hospital system on major initiatives such as Epic, Culture of Safety, and served as the Ebola clinical leader for 14,000+ employees during the Ebola crisis. In her CNO role she also created the first hospital-wide Daily Safety Huddle which was ultimately deployed at all 7 hospitals within the system. She also created the first Balanced Scorecard for the hospital which was formally adopted by the Board of Directors and the Quality Board.
Suzanne has spent the last 4 years working with hospitals across the country on improving nursing and hospital operations outcomes. She works closely with all members of the organization from C-Suite executives to bedside care providers. She is an accomplished public speaker and advisor to her clients. She has specialized in the human experience including nurse engagement and the patient experience. Suzanne has a passion for patient safety and believes culture plays the largest role in positive patient outcomes and healthy work environments.
