Giri Venkat

Giri Venkat has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Giri is currently serving as the VP of Autonomous Systems at SafeAI, Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at ON Semiconductor from 2016 to 2021, where they held the positions of Head of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity, Automotive Sensors + Solutions Architect, Perception. At ON Semiconductor, Giri provided technical strategy, policy, and leadership for autonomous vehicle perception systems and led the development of functional safety and cybersecurity solutions for image sensors, radar, and LiDAR semiconductors.

Before joining ON Semiconductor, Giri was the Founder of AutoConnected Inc. from 2010 to 2016. AutoConnected Inc. was a consumer electronics company that focused on developing infotainment systems for the mobile and automotive markets.

Giri also has experience at BroadLogic, where they served as the Director of Product Marketing from 2003 to 2009. Giri was responsible for all product marketing activities, including defining the company's product management processes and key messaging. During their tenure, Giri successfully executed the company's customer strategy, engaged with key accounts, and established relationships with cable operators and OEMs.

Prior to BroadLogic, they worked at NXP Semiconductors from 1998 to 2001 as a Business Development Manager, responsible for marketing and business development for TV semiconductors. Giri's role involved P&L ownership, marketing strategy, product definition, pricing, forecasting, and design wins.

Giri has also held positions at Yamaha Systems Technology as a Marketing Manager, responsible for sales and marketing of Yamaha multimedia ICs from 1995 to 1997. At S-MOS Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of Seiko-Epson, they worked as a Product Marketing Manager for advanced graphics IC devices from 1994 to 1995.

Earlier in their career, Giri worked at Xtechnology, Inc., a subsidiary of IIT (now 8x8, Inc.), as a Product Marketing Manager for graphics. Giri was responsible for all day-to-day marketing activities and successfully grew revenue by $1.5M in one year. Giri also has experience at General Electric, Power Systems Division as a Project Leader, where they led a design team in the development of a disaster recovery system for electrical power substations.

Giri Venkat holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering, which they obtained from San Jose State University. Giri pursued this degree from 2004 to 2010. Prior to their master's, Giri Venkat completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Temple University, where they studied from 1986 to 1992. Additionally, Giri Venkat obtained a certification as a Certified Functional Safety Expert from UL in May 2020.
