Nikolay Akimov

Nikolay Akimov has worked in various roles in the engineering and research fields since 2006. Nikolay began as a Research Assistant at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, followed by a Research Laboratory Supervisor at UT Health San Antonio from 2009 to 2016. In 2016, they worked as a Research Engineer at EchoLase Inc., and then in 2019 they became a Co-Founder and Product Design Engineer at SAFEbiosense LLC, where they raised a $225k NSF SBIR Phase I award. In 2021, they became a Design Engineer and Co-Founder at AMIPROTECH LLC, providing engineering contracts and consulting services.

Nikolay Akimov attended Foynitsky Art School from 1993 to 1999, studying Visual and Design Arts. Nikolay then attended Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) from 2000 to 2006, where they earned a Master of Science in Biophysics. Most recently, in 2020, they attended the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (TIP) NSF, studying Business.
