Malcolm Harkins

Malcolm Harkins is currently an advisor at SafeBreach. Prior to that, they were the Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cymatic from July 2019 to April 2021 and at Cylance Inc. from June 2015 to June 2019. At both companies, they were responsible for enabling business growth through trusted infrastructure, systems, and business processes. This included all aspects of information risk and security, as well as security and privacy policy. Malcolm was also responsible for peer outreach activities to drive improvement across the world in the understanding of cyber risks and best practices to manage and mitigate those risks. Key areas of focus for Malcolm include the ethics around technology risk, social responsibility, total cost of controls, and driving more industry accountability.

Malcolm Harkins has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Accounting and Finance from the University of California, Davis - Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics from UC Irvine. Malcolm also has certification from ISACA in Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM) and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
