Jim Goodsen has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jim is currently the Director of Operations at Safeguard Equipment, starting in 2022. Before this, they worked at Encoder Products Company from 2011 to 2022, where they held multiple roles including Corporate Officer and Chief Delivery Officer. At Encoder Products Company, they developed and oversaw the delivery management system and implemented a safety management system. Prior to that, they worked at JHI Engineering as a Contract Consulting Engineer and Project Manager from 2007 to 2011, responsible for project management and field engineering support. Jim also worked as a Facilities and Capital Projects Engineering Manager at Honeywell from 2006 to 2007, managing site facilities and spearheading the deployment of the HOS/Maintenance Excellence System. Before that, they were a Project Manager at McClintock & Turk from 2003 to 2006, overseeing the construction of an NIH BSL-4 Laboratory. Additionally, they worked as an MEP Project Manager at Bouten Construction Company from 2001 to 2003, managing mechanical and electrical contractors in the construction of Sacred Heart Medical Center. Finally, they started their career at Kaiser Aluminum in 1993 and held various positions of increasing responsibility, including Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Engineering Manager. At Kaiser Aluminum, they were accountable for the uptime and reliable operation of casting complexes and led a maintenance organization to achieve a reliability uptime of 95%.

Jim Goodsen completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1990. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Engineering from North Idaho College in 1986. In 2018, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Idaho. Additionally, they have obtained two professional certifications: a Professional Engineer (PE) license from the Washington State Department of Licensing in 2003 and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2001.
