Tony Pisani

Tony Pisani is a Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center since September 2001. Prior to this role, Tony worked as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the same institution. In addition, Tony is the Founder of SafeSide Prevention, a company established in March 2017. Tony also has experience as a Pediatric Psychology Intern at Children's Minnesota from July 2000 to June 2001. Tony obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia in 2001 and a B.A. in Latin American History and Spanish from Bowdoin College in 1993.

SafeSide Prevention

SafeSide Prevention provides leadership consultation and professional training for health, education, and government organizations to unite and inspire their primary care and health workforce around suicide prevention. Our mission is to strengthen organizational cultures of safety, prevention, and recovery through best practices and supporting staff with innovative, continuous education and development. SafeSide serves organizations in Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Canada. In Australia, SafeSide has partnered with NSW Health Towards Zero Suicide Initiative to train mental health teams statewide and with the Departments of Veteran Affairs and Defence to implement and deeply embed the SafeSide Framework nationwide. In the US, SafeSide has partnered with the State of Utah, the South Carolina Department of Social Services, and with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to disseminate primary care training through local chapters in all 50 states.
