Manuel Amaral

Manuel Amaral has over 25 years of experience in engineering and project management across aerospace and automotive industries. Currently serving as VP Engineering Systems & Equipment at Safran Landing Systems, responsibilities include overseeing critical embedded landing gear systems, managing a budget of 5M€ annual investments, and defining strategic initiatives. Prior positions at Safran include Chief Engineer for the development of the Electrical Thrust Reverser ETRAS and Project Manager for innovative actuation systems. Previously, at PSA Peugeot Citroën, Manuel managed powertrain projects for the Peugeot 208, integrating new engine technologies and achieving significant cost reductions. Starting as a Research Engineer at GDF SUEZ, contributions focused on enhancing process efficiency through modeling and simulations. Manuel holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Pierre and Marie Curie University.
