Tiago Lisboa Sousa

Tiago Lisboa Sousa is an experienced engineering professional specializing in battery safety and functional modeling. Currently serving as the ESS Product Safety Manager at Saft since September 2021, Tiago Lisboa Sousa previously held roles as Battery Lead Safety Engineer at Stellantis and Battery Safety Lead Engineer at Groupe PSA, where expertise in Li-ion battery safety issues, including thermal runaway and thermal propagation, was developed. Prior experience includes positions as Senior CAE Engineer at PRE Technologies Ltd., focusing on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses across various industries, and Research Fellow at LNEG, where research encompassed CFD analyses and prototype development for fuel cells and hydrogen storage. Additionally, Tiago Lisboa Sousa has a background in research and development engineering from Forschungszentrum Jülich and Instituto Superior Técnico, complemented by a Ph.D. in Fuel Cell Modeling from Newcastle University and a Licentiate degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico.
