Senior Research Software Engineer at Sage Bionetworks

Andrew Lamb has a diverse work experience in various research and bioinformatics roles. Andrew started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Western Washington University, where they performed PCR on mutant Arabidopsis plants. Andrew then worked as a Research Scientist/Lab Manager at the University of Washington. After that, Lamb joined the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as a Research Technician, using GC/MS to analyze the fatty acid makeup of C. elegans.

In 2015, Lamb joined Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Programmer/Analyst, developing pipelines for bioinformatic analyses, especially for RNASeq data. Andrew also served as a Data Analyst, creating scripts to convert Illumina array data and creating networks using Cytoscape. At Sage Bionetworks, Lamb worked as a Research Associate and later as a Senior Research Associate.

At Sage Bionetworks, Lamb mainly focused on bioinformatics engineering, developing the iAtlas web portal that allows users to view immune oncology results from various datasets. Andrew utilized technologies such as shiny, postgres database on AWS, and Thorsson et al. analysis modules to provide visualization and exploration features. Throughout their career, Lamb has gained significant experience in R programming, shell scripting, and Python. Andrew has also used various bioinformatic packages and tools for data analysis, including DESeq2, DEXSeq, Limma, eQTL, PEER, SVA, Samtools, GNU make, and Dplyr.

Overall, Andrew Lamb's work experience demonstrates a strong background in research, bioinformatics, and software engineering within the field of oncology and genomics.

Andrew Lamb completed a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Northeastern University between 2013 and 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Cellular Biology from Western Washington University between 2008 and 2010.
