Jo Scanlan

Jo Scanlan's work experience includes roles at several organizations.

They started their career in 2009 as a Lab Assistant at the USDA Agricultural Research Service, where they focused on processing horticultural samples with a focus on accuracy and consistency.

In 2010, Jo worked as a Team Leader at Seattle Parks and Recreation, coordinating volunteer experiences for low-income youth and providing guidance on conflict resolution and communication skills.

From 2011 to 2012, Jo served as the Health Director at Camp Orkila for the YMCA of Greater Seattle, overseeing the medical records and medications for up to 400 campers per week and implementing improved processes for medication administration.

Jo then worked as a Peer Support Counselor at Community Psychiatric Clinic from 2013 to 2013, providing support and assistance to clients in an unstable environment.

In the same year, Jo also worked as a Residential Counselor at the Downtown Emergency Service Center, where they provided emotional and social support, managed the front office, and responded to crisis situations.

From 2015 to 2018, Jo worked at Amazon, starting as an Amazon Fulfillment Operations Associate and progressing to GSF Central Operations Assistant Manager. They played a role in the launch and development of various fulfillment programs and managed logistics for multiple fulfillment centers.

Most recently, Jo worked at Sage Bionetworks as an Executive Business Partner and later as a Project Manager. In their role as a business partner, they were responsible for mitigating operational challenges, implementing organizational-wide operational norms, and managing the project management lifecycle.

Jo Scanlan has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health Sciences from Seattle Pacific University, which was earned between the years 2008 and 2012. In 2022, Jo obtained a certificate in Project Management from UW Professional & Continuing Education. Additionally, Jo has completed additional certifications in Introduction to Genomic Technologies from Coursera, obtained in April 2023, and Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) from the Washington State Health Care Authority.
