Lila Owens

Lila Owens has had an impressive career in the business world. In 2007, they began their career as a Real Estate Broker at Sotheby's International Realty. In 2014, they founded Cupcakin' Bake Shop, where they serve as the lead baker and creative director. Cupcakin' Bake Shop is a bakery based in the East Bay, with seven popular locations across Berkeley and Oakland. Cupcakin' Bake Shop is dedicated to giving back to their community, launching Cupcakin Cares in Fall 2002. In 2016, Lila was a founding member of the Small Business Council at Facebook. In 2020, they were a member of the 4th Cohort of the ICA Accelerator, and in 2021 they were a Project Bento Recipient for the Black Business Matter Campaign.

Lila Owens attended Howard University from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). Lila then went on to attend San Francisco State University from 2001 to 2003, where they earned a Master's degree in Public Administration.
