Wendy Smith

Wendy Smith is the Director of Contemporary Music at Sage Gateshead. Wendy has been with Sage Gateshead for 7 years, and has also served as the Director of Creative Learning and a Board Member. Prior to their work at Sage Gateshead, Wendy was with Gateshead Council for 2 years 6 months, where they served as Vice Chair of the Environment, Economy and Culture Board and Chair of Gateshead Culture Forum. Wendy has also been a Professional Musician & Performer for 21 years, most notably with the band Prefab Sprout.

Wendy Smith attended Haughton School in Darlington and New College Durham, where they studied Drama and Performing Arts.
