Chris Boles has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and life sciences. Chris started their career as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the University of California Berkeley in 1985. Later, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Brandeis University, where they conducted basic and applied research in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics.
In 1994, Chris Boles joined Mosaic Technologies as the VP of R&D. Chris led and managed all research and development activities of the company and co-invented key molecular diagnostic technologies. Chris also built and supervised a team of 25 scientists and 5 engineers.
From 2001 to 2005, Chris Boles served as the VP and CSO at Matrix Technologies/Fisher Scientific, playing a significant role in identifying market trends and addressing the changing demands of the biotech and pharma customer base. Chris was also a part of the new product planning and evaluation team.
In 2005, Chris Boles worked as a Consultant at Biodetection Consulting before joining Sage Science, Inc. in 2007. At Sage Science, they currently hold the position of Chief Scientific Officer, responsible for managing research and development efforts towards new instrument systems for life science, biotech, and pharma researchers, with a particular focus on high throughput automated sample prep systems for next-generation DNA sequencing and MS-based proteomics.
Chris Boles earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Biology from Princeton University between 1979 and 1984.
