Rebecca Hammond has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of neuroscience and pharmaceutical research. Rebecca began their career at the Laboratory of Cellular and Synaptic Neurophysiology at NICHD, NIH, where they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2005 to 2006 and later as a Research Associate from 2006 to 2007. Following this, they worked as a Senior Research Scientist II at Wyeth Research from 2007 to 2009. Rebecca then joined Seaside Therapeutics as a Scientist from 2009 to 2012, and later as a Senior Scientist from 2012 to 2013. Since 2013, they have been employed at Sage Therapeutics in various roles, including Associate Director of In Vivo Pharmacology, Director of Scientific Communications & Research Operations, Senior Director and Head of Biology for CNS Research, and currently as the Executive Director of CNS Biology & Translational Science.
Rebecca Hammond obtained their B.S./B.A. in Biology/Psychology from The George Washington University between 1996 and 2000. Subsequently, they pursued their Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience at Oregon Health & Science University, which they completed between 2000 and 2005.
