Malek Bendelhoum

Malek Bendelhoum is an accomplished leader with significant experience in nonprofit management and community outreach. Currently serving as the Founding Executive Director of Sahaba Initiative since November 2021, Malek previously held the position of Executive Director at the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California from August 2016 to May 2022. Prior roles include Administrative Director at the Islamic Center of Inland Empire, Inc. and Programs and Outreach Coordinator at the Islamic Shura Council of Southern California. Malek began a career in youth engagement as the Youth Director at the Islamic Center of Riverside. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology-Law & Society from the University of California, Riverside, as well as an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Business Administration, Paralegal Studies from Riverside City College. Additionally, Malek undertook further studies in philanthropy at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
